PALESTINIAN ORGANIZATIONS DEMAND INQUIRY INTO UN GENOCIDE PREVENTION OFFICE’S INEXCUSABLE FAILURE TO ADDRESS ISRAEL’S ONGOING GENOCIDE IN GAZA

Palestinian human rights organizations, including Addameer, have penned a letter addressed to the United Nations (UN) Secretary-General, Mr. António Guterres, expressing profound disappointment and calling for an inquiry over the failure of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide, Ms. Alice Wairimu Nderitu, to fulfill her mandate in addressing the ongoing atrocities perpetrated by Israel against Palestinians in Gaza.

The occupation authorities have issued an administrative detention order against human rights defender Diala Ayesh for a period of four months.

Ramallah - Addameer: Today, Thursday 25/01/2024, the occupation authorities issued an arbitrary administrative detention order against the activist lawyer and human rights defender Diala Ayesh from the city of Al-Bireh for a period of four months, ending on May 16, 2024. Diala was arrested while passing through the military "Container" checkpoint that separates cities in the southern West Bank from the rest of the provinces.

Ramallah – Addameer: The occupation forces arrested the human rights activist and former member of the legislative council Khalida Jarrar from her home in the city of Ramallah on Tuesday, December 26th, after raiding and searching it. Jarrar is a former prisoner and a human rights activist who works as a researcher at the Muwatin Institute at Birzeit University.
