Palestinian Legislative Council member Samira Al-Halaiqa arrested by Israeli occupation forces

Palestinian Legislative Council member Samira Al-Halaiqa was brought to military court, today, 12 March 2017 where the prosecution requested an extension of detention for 5 days. The military judge rejected this request, and instead granted a one-day extension, ending on 13 March 2017, until her next hearing. 

Palestinian Legislative Council member Samira Al-Halaiqa was arrested from her home in Hebron on 09 March 2017, only one day after International Women’s Day. Israeli occupation forces raided the home, conducted searches. Samira was then taken to an undisclosed location.

The Legislative Council member was taken to Ofer prison and then transferred to HaSharon.

Samira Al-Halaiqa suffers from diabetes and requires daily insulin and periodic blood tests.
